The Lambda Chapter at University of Colorado at Boulder awarded their annual “Lifetime of Legacy” Scholarship to one undergraduate student at the UC-Boulder campus recently. The 4th annual event is the chapter’s way of “paying it forward” in hopes of prividing support to the next generation of scholars.
“Our scholarship is intended to serve students each year by providing them support and resources to promote their success at UC-Boulder”, said Bro. Erik Ledezma, chapter president.
The scholarship recipient is awarded to a freshman as a one-time, non-renewable scholarship. To be eligible for the Lifetime of Legacy Scholarship, undergraduate students must complete program requirements during their first semester. They must attend events that promote cultural awareness, complete community service hours and attend organized study hours. Once the requirements are met the scholarship money is dispersed.
Each scholarship applicant is reviewed on their character, high school academics and achievements, and lastly, their desire to better themselves through higher education.
“As a chapter, we donate and fund raise for the funds that are awarded for this scholarship. This is meaningful for us because we are leaving a small legacy every year”, said Bro. Erik.
Congrats to the Lambda Chapter for upholding the pillar of scholarship on their campus and within their community!
