Chapter 1
FoundingOn February 4th 1996, several men met with brothers of Sigma Lambda Beta International Fraternity,Inc. at the University of Toledo about the possibility of establishing a colony at Bowling Green State University. They were told to come back the following week with the required materials indicated by our National Headquarters. On February 11th, 1996, at 10:34PM, the founding line was inducted in the presence of brothers from Eastern Michigan University and the University of Toledo. Due to circumstances beyond the control of both the associate members and brothers at the University of Toledo, the educational process was terminated near the end of March.
In November of 1996, Moses Botello approached Robert Harshbarger and asked him if he wanted to restart the process. With his affirmation the two corresponded with the national board to obtain approval to begin the process again. The Vice President of Expansion at the time, Brother Ian "Jefe" Bautista, granted their request on Monday, November 25, 1996. The two decided that they would wait until the start of the new semester to begin with the process.
In January, Moses and Robert we re-inducted as "The Phoenix Line". After a long journey, the two pulled together and finished the process at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana, on February 23, 1997, at 12:53:12am. Brother Moses "Mexica" Botello graduated on May 6, 1999 and moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico to work for UPN and the WB Television Networks.
