Brother Stories:
The following are stories from various Brothers taken during the Midwest District meeting from throughout the Midwest District. These stories, sentences, paragraphs, and phrases will give you a diverse point-of-view and an insight on the meaning of Sigma Lambda Beta through their eyes, perspectives, and most importantly, their words.
Bro. Mario Garcia, Omicron:
An organized assembly of willing multicultural males to better themselves through scholarship, brotherhood, cultural awareness, and community service.
Bro. Carlos Rivera, Phi:
Sigma Lambda Beta is an opportunity for someone like me to advance my skills as a potential leader. To learn and understand cultures of others I wouldn’t know if there was no ΣΛΒ. To use my God-given talents to help those who need it and give back to the community and the fraternity.
Bro. Jose Miguel Castaneda, Phi Alpha:
Sigma Lambda Beta Int’l Fraternity Inc. means to me a family away from home where we better the country and come together as educated scholars. This organization helps us as Latinos to achieve our goals and graduate from the university. It also emphasizes that we should reach out to our hermanos y hermanas and helps them get to where we are at. It focuses on having pride of who we are and shows everybody else why through our culture. Esta organizacion es parte de mi Corazon.
Bro. James Anunciacion, Alpha Beta:
What does ΣΛΒ mean to me? It is a lifestyle, promoting the development and fostering of intellectual men in order to promote diversity and the betterment of our communities, uniting men with common goals and aspirations.
Bro. Michael Ambriz, Zeta Gamma:
I see it as my second family. With all the brotherhood that we have and having an understanding of what we as individuals have to do to survive by following the duties that we all know and will never forget.
