Here is a list of benefits we as Brothers have seen and how important that are to us and the university.
Graduation Rates - Latinos drop out of college faster then any other racial/ethnich group. This is especially true at WMU. But guess what? Since 1995 every Brother associated with Sigma Lambda Beta has graduated, or is still in school. We have many Brothers also pursuing graduate degrees as well. Being a Beta helps you finish college, helps you succeed, helps you meet your goals.
Brothers for Life - Brotherhood does not only last while you are in college. Our Chapter has a very active Alumni base and we always keep in contact. Going to Chicago?... We have alums there who can show you around and give you a place to crash. Heading to Grand Rapids, Detroit, Saginaw, etc.?... We have alums there and most major cities in the country as well. Our National Brotherhood is supportive, helpful, and more importantly there for you!
Networking - You want connections. Being a Brother of Sigma Lambda Beta gets you involved on campus. The President of the university attended our Formal last year. What other fraternity can say that? None. You want to work in the community?... we have been involved in community activism and can help you involved there as well. Need help with a resume for a big job?... we got our Brothers covered with years of experience from our Alums.
Leadership - We travel to many conferences, all across the country. We help you to see the country, meet new people and have diverse experiences. Our Brothers graduate with more skills then those who sat on the sidelines... Get Involved! Employers know involved students are better leaders, great team members, and more importantly valuable workers. We have had Brothers in many leadership roles on campus. Where do you want to be?
Academics - We strive to be our best, at everything we do. For two years in a row we lead all fraternities on campus with the best GPA. We do what we say, we say what we mean, and we finish school with honors.

Interesting in becoming a member? Well here is the information you need to know. We compiled a list of questions we get a lot, and the answers. Have another question out there, let us know and we will answer it for you.
What does my GPA have to be?
We require a 2.50 GPA from anyone who wants to become a member, but just meeting the requirement does not guarantee membership.
What do I have to do if I want to start Membership Education?
That is easy, just contact a Brother and tell them you want to become a Brother. Next comes the hard stuff, we will need you to provide a transcript to prove your GPA, then set up a time to get interviewed by the Brothers. If the Brothers feel you are a good candidate for membership, you will receive a bid to become a member.
Okay, so what is Membership Education?
This is the time in which you learn about Sigma Lambda Beta, what we stand for, and become a Brother. We are a non-hazing fraternity and our process is designed to development leadership qualities, build the bonds of Brotherhood and ensure we all will graduate from college!
How much time will it take?
Generally Membership Education takes about 8 weeks. We are flexible with work, class, and family schedules. We will make sure you have time for studies (your GPA should go up when you become a Brother), time for family, and time for a social life as well. You will learn to balance everything and have more fun in college while getting more involved.
Do I have to be Latino? Speak Spanish?
NO! We have Brothers from Indian, African American, American, Italian, any cultural/racial group you can think of. We do not discriminate and accept men who stand for our principles and will dedicate their lives to being honorable Brothers of Sigma Lambda Beta.
