Sigma Lambda Beta is governed by the Executive Board of Directors which is made up 5 Directors and 1 Chairmen. We also have 9 Regional Directors that oversee our regions and comprise the Regional Directors Caucus. All officers are elected by the House of Delegates at every Convention.

Chairman, Bro. Luis Cruz-Rivera
Director, Bro. Diego Back
Diego joined Sigma Lambda Beta in the Fall of 1999 at Loyola Marymount University (LMU), in Los Angeles, CA. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in 2002 from LMU. In December of 2005, Diego graduated from Law School and earned his Juris Doctor. In 2008, he earned his first Master of Arts degree in Bioethics, also from LMU. Later in 2010, he earned his second master’s degree, a Master’s of Science in Leadership and Management. Other positions, Diego has held within the organization is Regional Director for 5 years, Chairman of the Southern California Alumni Network, and Ritual Education Committee member, among others. He presently resides in Los Angeles and other than being involved with the organization, Diego loves to work out, travel, play soccer, and coach the game of soccer.
Director, Bro. Anthony Mejia
Director, Bro. Rogelio Monzón
Rogelio Monzon was initiated into Sigma Lambda Beta International Fraternity, Inc. on December 7th, 2002 at the Chi Beta Chapter at Arizona State University. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Economics in 2005 and his Masters in Business Administration in 2012 from Arizona State University. He recently accepted the position of Director of Finance for Good Samaritan Hospital in Bakersfield, CA. Previously he worked in the Wealth Management division for Bank of America and as a Financial Advisor for Ameriprise Financial. He is an avid golfer but admits, not a very good one.
Director, Bro. Antonio Quevedo
Brother Antonio Quevedo crossed at the University of Texas at Arlington in December 16, 2001. He has a Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineer and works in the field of program technical management. Antonio is serving his second term on the Executive Board of Directors and is focusing his efforts on helping developing programs that help us meet our fraternal goals. He resides in the Washington D.C. area where he entertains himself by playing baseball, wakeboarding and snowboarding on his spare time.
Director, Bro. John Dimas
John Dimas was born in San Antonio, Texas in November 1977. The son of a retired staff sergeant in the Army, he grew up in a small town in Texas with his father and two brothers. After achieving several milestones in Track & Field throughout high school, John attended Prairie View A&M University on a full track scholarship. He majored in Accounting and graduated magna cum laude while competing at the collegiate level in the pole vault, decathlon and the mile. He was a member of the Prairie View A&M University Track Team that won the school their 1st ever South Western Athletic Conference (SWAC) Indoor Track & Field Championship in 1998.
He joined Sigma Lambda Beta in the Fall of 1998 and helped to bring Sigma Lambda Beta back to one of two HBCU’s (Historically Black College University’s) in the state of Texas. He was given the line name “Huracan,” symbolizing his accomplishments on the track and in the classroom. Brother Dimas is a previous SLB Board Member serving as the Vice President of Finance from 2004 to 2006.
With a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and a MBA from the University of Utah, John has spent the last 13 years moving up corporate latter as an accounting professional. Working for one of the largest private companies in the US, Enterprise Holdings, Inc, (operating the Enterprise, National and Alamo rental car brands), he served as the Houston Regional Controller in their home city and airport operations. Brother Dimas currently is a Controller with US Physical Therapy, Inc., one of the largest publicly-traded, pure-play operators of outpatient physical and occupational therapy clinics in the U.S.
Regional Directors
Northeast Regional Director, Bro. Matthew “Matty” Ruiz
Matthew Ruiz is the Regional Director for the Northeast Region. He has attained a B.S in Business, Management and Finance and a Political Science Degree from CUNY Brooklyn College in Brooklyn, New York. He was initiated into the Brooklyn College Colony, presently the Omicron gamma chapter on September 8th, 2007. Matt has served as president, community service and fundraising chair of the Omicron Gamma chapter. Matt is dedicated to giving back to the community, and selfless acts, as he truly values the Brotherhood’s principle of Community Service.
East Regional Director, Bro. Trace Camacho
Trace Camacho is the Regional Director for the East Region. He has attained a B.A. in Anthropology from the University of California, Santa Cruz and a Masters Degree in Higher Education and Student Affairs from Iowa State University. Trace is currently works as the Assistant Director of Student Life for Greek Life at Michigan State University where he is also a Ph.D. student. Previously he served as a member of the Ritual and Education Committee and as Vice President of Expansion on the International Board of Directors. Trace is an active volunteer for the Association of Fraternity/Sorority Advisors, The National Association of Student Personal Administrators, Phi Mu, Beta Theta Pi, Phi Kappa Tau, and Sigma Kappa. His future goals are to become a Vice President of Student Affairs and travel the world.
Southeast Regional Director, Bro. Max Sinal
Max Sinal joined the brotherhood in spring 2009 at the Revolutionary Zeta Beta chapter of Sigma Lambda Beta International Fraternity, Incorporated. Graduated from UF with a Bachelors in Sport Management and a minor in business. Max is currently the Management Assistant in the management program at Enterprise Rent a car. Max also volunteers his free time coaching basketball and flag football at the YMCA.
Central Regional Director, Bro. David Ayento
David Ayento is the Regional Director of the Central Region. He was born and raised on the Southside of Chicago where he attended Gordon Tech High School. He enrolled at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign majoring in Speech Communication. There he was actively involved in the United Greek Council, student committees, and the Kappa Chapter of Sigma Lambda Beta. He served two terms as Chapter President, Membership Educator, and lead planner on over 30 cultural and community service programs on campus. He was actively involved with the RBOD serving as the last Undergrad Representative for the region. As an alumnus he most recently served as the Assistant Regional Director of Communications for the Central Region. His plans for the Central Region include increasing operational efficiency, fostering Brother’s professional development, and focusing on Brother’s academics.
David graduated from the University of Illinois in December 2008. In 2010 he married his college sweetheart Laura. He currently works for an industrial supply distributor in the Chicago suburbs and is taking courses towards his MBA. In his free time he enjoys playing basketball, bike riding, and winning championships in his SLB fantasy football league.
Midwest Regional Director, Bro. Sherief Elabbady
Sherief is a graduate of the University of Minnesota where he attained a degree in Electrical Engineering and minor in Business Management. Currently, he works in Systems Integration Consulting at Accenture, based out of Minneapolis. As Midwest Regional Director, Sherief will oversee all entities that comprise the Midwest Region.
South Regional Director, Bro. Juan Eligio, Jr.
Brother Juan Eligio, Jr. joined Sigma Lambda Beta in Spring 2004 at the University of Houston-Downtown – Nu Gamma Chapter. He graduated in 2006 with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management. Brother Juan has taken on many important roles in the Houston Area. After graduating he became the Director of Alumni Operations for the Houston Alumni Association (HAA) and then moved on to be Chairman of HAA for 3 years. Brother Juan thought it was time to start helping the fraternity on a larger scale and applied for the South Region Director. Currently Brother Juan is on his second term as Regional Director.
Northwest Regional Director, Bro. Asuncion “Chon” Marquez
Northwest Regional Director, Bro. Chon Marquez joined Sigma Lambda Beta in 2006 at the University of Washington, Seattle – Phi Beta Chapter. He graduated in 2010 with a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish Studies and Urban Design and Planning. He hopes to start working on his Masters in Urban Design and Planning next year and pursue his phd short after.
Southwest Regional Director, Bro. Matthew Sotelo
Matthew Sotelo became the Southwest Regional Director in January 2013. He attained a B.A. in English Literature from Arizona State University in 2010. He was initiated into the Chi Beta Chapter at ASU on December 2, 2005. Matt has served as the Chi Beta Alumni Advisor and most recently, served as the Director of Operations for the Arizona Alumni Association. Matt currently works for a national non-profit and enjoys helping youth in realizing their potential. Matt’s future plans include going back to school to obtain a Master’s in Post-Secondary and Higher Education.
West Regional Director, Bro. Omar Padilla
Brother Omar Padilla joined Sigma Lambda Beta in 2005 at the University of California, Santa Cruz – Lambda Gamma Chapter. He graduated in 2007 with a Bachelor of Arts in Latin America/Latino Studies and Politics and is completing a Master of Arts in Mexican American Studies at California State University, Los Angeles and plans to pursue a PhD in American Studies.
Omar joined the International Board of Directors during the 2006-2008 term as Undergraduate Representative and Vice President of Programming. Brother Omar has held positions on Regional Board of Directors and the Rules and Standards Committee.
